I've been purposefully staying away from the Ben Roethlisberger alleged assault media blitz. There's just something not right about the whole thing...be it the accusations themselves or the absence of a criminal complaint in a civil suit filed a year+ after the fact. I'm not gonna get caught up in the he-said, she-said, because that's not my style. I like to laugh.

Which is why this is how I'll break my silence on the issue.

This SI article from yesterday, from Steely McBeam via OFTOT's Twitter, tells that authorities aren't even looking at the facts as a criminal case. That alone confirms at least some of my suspicions. But in the opening paragraph, SI had this to say:

"Law enforcement officials in Nevada have no intention of opening a criminal investigation into allegations Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Baid Wednesday."

Baid Wednesday? Did we get a new quarterback while I was ignoring this story? Looks like there's a whole chunk of that sentence missing.

Pointing out simple typos > Getting worked up about a sketchy sexual assault civil suit. Take note, everyone else.

Baid Wednesday.

Could be part of the newsdesk with the likes of Ron Burgundy.

Know what I just realized...we won't get to see Mikey Potts at camp this year. I'm going to be supremely depressed.
