I don't typically give you readers advice on a steady basis. However, when one of my friends, who happens to be a big-time football blogger and Steelers fan, writes a book, I will advise you to purchase it immediately.
For those youngins out there, a book is like a blog with a front and back cover. And better sentence structure.
My buddy Mike Tunison, better known as Christmas Ape of the inimitable KSK and the excellent DC Steeler Nation (who was spotted at Penguins-Mecca-bar Foley's in NYC for the Stanley Cup clincher) recently wrote The Football Fan's Manifesto. It'll be available on August 18th, but you can pre-order now.
Mike stresses that the book looks at the game of football through an adult point of view. Because when mouse-voiced Troy Polamalu calls the NFL a "pansy league," you need something like this book to level the playing field. I'd like to see if Roger Goodell somehow lays Mike out with a 4-game suspension for violating the league rules or some shit.
Enjoy the promotional video, which was shot with a budget of somewhere around 2 bucks and a stick of bubble gum. And then go pre-order the book, or get it chucked at your face.
